iSynth Legal & Privacy
Terms of Service
Last updated: August 3, 2026
These Terms of Service apply to the iSynth website, APIs, and dataset submission, review, publication, and download services. By accessing or using the service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you act for an institution or co-authors, you must have authority to do so.
1. Eligibility, accounts, and security
You must be able to agree to these terms under applicable law and provide truthful, accurate, and current account information. An account is generally for one person and may not be sold, rented, transferred, or shared through common account credentials. If you discover unauthorized use or a security incident, change the affected credentials and contact isynth@ichemdata.com promptly.
A dataset access password is different from an account password. A dataset owner may share an access password with authorized research collaborators. Recipients must not forward or publish it beyond that authorization or bypass later access restrictions.
2. Platform service and intellectual property
iSynth grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to use the platform under these terms. Platform software, interfaces, branding, documentation, field specifications, and other operator-created content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except where an open-source license, express page authorization, or applicable law permits, you may not copy, modify, sell, rent, reverse engineer, or use platform branding to imply endorsement or affiliation.
3. Submission ownership and platform license
You and the relevant rights holders retain rights lawfully held in submitted content. To operate the service, you grant iSynth a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license as necessary to host, copy, back up, validate, reformat, preview, index, review, publish or distribute under your selected access mode and data license, and preserve version and provenance records.
This license does not transfer ownership or permit iSynth to commercialize a submission independently beyond the service, selected access scope, and data license. For deleted unpublished content, the license ends after reasonable backup, security, and audit retention. Published versions, citation provenance, and uses already made under an open license may continue under the relevant license and scientific-record requirements.
4. Submitter representations and responsibilities
By submitting content, you represent that you may act for all relevant rights holders and choose the stated license; authorship, affiliations, sources, versions, licenses, and access status are accurate; required notice and authorization have been obtained for co-author personal information; and the content does not infringe intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights or contain unlawful material, malware, or information that should not be disclosed. You must correct material errors or rights issues that you discover.
5. Review, publication, versions, and removal
We may perform automated validation and human review, request revision, reject publication, restrict access, correct prominent errors, or remove content presenting compliance, security, quality, or rights concerns. Review is not a warranty of scientific conclusions, data completeness, ownership, or fitness for a purpose. To preserve citations and scientific integrity, an unpublished or removed record may continue to show a version number, citation identifier, status, and necessary provenance.
6. Dataset access, licenses, and citation
Use of each dataset is also governed by the open license, password authorization, or specific terms shown on its page. If a dataset license conflicts with these terms, that license controls how the dataset may be copied, adapted, and distributed, while these terms continue to govern platform access and account conduct. Preserve author, version, source, and license information and cite the stable link supplied on the dataset page.
Computational analysis, data mining, and machine learning are permitted when allowed by the specific dataset license or dataset owner. This permission does not allow harvesting author emails for marketing, bypassing passwords or access controls, or expanding rights in underlying third-party source material.
7. Acceptable use
Do not attempt unauthorized access, credential stuffing, bulk password attacks, vulnerability exploitation, rate-limit evasion, abusive scraping, malware distribution, service interference, impersonation, provenance falsification, or automated collection of contact information for unsolicited communications. Automated research access should use public APIs or download methods expressly provided by the platform and follow licenses, robots instructions, rate limits, and attribution requirements.
8. Chemical data, scientific judgment, and safety
Datasets may originate from submitters, papers, patents, databases, simulations, or other third parties and may contain omissions or errors in transcription, units, structures, identifiers, or experimental conditions. Independently verify critical information before relying on it, training a model, citing it, or conducting an experiment. Follow laboratory-safety, hazardous-material, environmental, import/export, intellectual-property, and other applicable requirements. Platform content is not an experimental instruction, safety assessment, or legal or regulatory opinion.
9. Third-party content, links, and marks
Third-party data, libraries, literature, links, and marks belong to their respective rights holders and remain subject to their terms. A link, citation, or listing does not mean that iSynth endorses the content or accepts responsibility for its continued availability, accuracy, legality, or privacy practices.
10. Availability, changes, and preview features
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to maintain the service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation or immediate correction of every defect. Maintenance, security risk, provider failure, force majeure, or feature changes may interrupt or alter the service. Preview or beta features may change or end at any time and should not be the sole dependency for a critical business or laboratory workflow.
11. Disclaimers and limits of responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the platform, submissions, and third-party content are provided as is, without express or implied warranties of accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, availability, or fitness for particular research. Users are responsible for data selection, validation, experimental safety, and research outcomes. To the extent permitted by law, iSynth is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or loss caused by failure to independently verify chemical data. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or user rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
12. Restriction, suspension, termination, and account closure
If you violate these terms, threaten the platform or others, exceed dataset authorization, or become subject to a credible rights or legal request, we may proportionately limit features, suspend or terminate access, revoke tokens, quarantine files, or remove content. Where circumstances allow, we will explain the reason and offer an opportunity to appeal or remedy the issue. You may request account closure, but published scientific records, necessary audit records, and legally required content may remain under the Privacy Policy.
13. Rights notices, feedback, and contact
If you believe content infringes intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, or another right, email isynth@ichemdata.com with a link or identifier for the content, the basis of your claim, contact details, and the requested action. We may verify identity and rights, temporarily restrict content, relay necessary information to the submitter, and decide whether to retain, correct, or remove content based on the evidence. General product feedback may be submitted through the platform feedback page.
14. Updates and general terms
We may update these terms for changes in features, risks, or law and will show a new revision date. Material changes will be communicated reasonably and prominently; where separate consent is legally required, we will request it. If one provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. Mandatory applicable law prevails where it requires otherwise.
